Hi there. For the past 2 weeks I'd been trying to work with FruityWifi in every way and every combination my hardware would allow me, and had no luck.
1. First steps:
- FruityWifi FAQ and docs, check.
- Hostapd FAQ and docs, check.
- Airmong-ng FAQ and docs, check.
2. Hardware:
- 2 x Raspberry Pi 2
- 2 x Raspberry Pi B
- 1 x ALFA AWUS036H (Realtek RTL8187L)
- 1 x ALFA AWUS036NH (Ralink RT3070)
- 1 x ALFA AWUS036NEH (Ralink RT2870/3070)
- 1 x ALFA AWUS036NHA (Atheros AR9271)
- 1 x TP-LINK WN722N (Atheros AR9271)
- 1 x DLINK Powered USB HUB (tried every wifi dongle, with or without powered USB hub)
- SD/SDHC: 64gb class10 Kingston, 32gb class10 Sandisk, 16gb class10 Kingston, 8gb class10 Kingston...
- RPi's powered by 5V-2A wall-chargers and/or Anker Astro Pro 14400mAh
- Also, I had tried with different USB cables, for dongles and RPi's power connections.
3. Linux distro:
- Kali Linux 2.01 (Armel for RPi 1B & Armhf for RPi 2; booted from scratch every time, expanded partition, update && dist-upgrade, installed FruityWifi from repo's and/or from github). Keep in mind that this happened with every combination of hardware I've got: every RPi's, with any wifi dongle, USB powered or not, with AC or battery pack, with every SD card I've got....etc.
3.1. If installed from repo's: Mana & Karma works...for like about 10 minutes. After that, anything could happen: 1) Association with AP's is OK but no dhcp leases; 2) You can see AP's SSID and Mana or Karma "ssid tricks" but it wouldn't let you associate; or 3) DHCP leases would stop after client nÂș 7 (or 8th).
3.2. If installed from github: Mana or Karma won't make it since they complain about missing "libnl-1". Regardless, If you satisfy "libnl-1" and "libnl-dev" dependencies from debian wheezy, Mana & Karma will compile and start, but they will produce same results as above. OR, even if installed from github, you could install Karma & Mana modules from repo (satisfying with libnl-3-*, etc.); but once again...same results.
So...Again: I'd tried all hardware combinations and got same results every time. Anyone going through this? I am willing to reproduce any hardware & software scenario and post error logs for any combination.
Thanks in advance
