Version 1.0This module allows you to capture all SSIDs, BSSIDs and Stations around you. It is possible to filter packets by Type, Subtype and force the Channel hopping.

Hi,
Do the "Filter" tab applies to WiFiRecon's output? I tried to blacklist some SSIDs or deny some clients but it keeps showing them after refreshing... is this tab used by the AP instead of the WiFiRecon itself?
Regards.

Hi silverse, The listed Clients and SSIDs on Filters tab apply to AP module only at the moment. The filter are not integrated with the module yet, but I will add them in the next release regards,

Hi, having a few issues with this module. It seems to start okay without any errors but it won't list any devices around me. Is there any way I should have it configured like hostapd vs airmon-ng. In my case I am using hostapd, the AP module works fully so my wifi adapted isn't the issue. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Hi error404, You can test the module manually using the script from the command line.
- First set the interface in monitor mode (mon0) from MENU/Config, Monitor Interface - Then:
cd /usr/share/fruitywifi/www/modules/wifirecon/includes python scan-recon.py
The script randomly change the mon0 channel to scan for Stations and APs.
If you use the module from FruityWiFi, you can change the setup, for example channels to scan, from the config tab.

The web interface uses that script (it was created for this module), check your setup on the tab "config".
You can select Types, SubTypes and Channels to scan/capture. Do a simple test selecting 1 or 2 channels only (on channels that you know that there is something, of course)
Please note that the module does not have an auto refresh at the moment, so click "refresh" to get the updated content.

I started the monitor mode on my extra WiFi card (wlan1) and then make it work as "mon0". here's the result: from the picture we can see columns not the same. some columns only have a bssid and an extra "select option", is there something wrong, or it's mean to be? Best regards, Tim

The lines in grey are the the Access Points (bssid, channel, signal, security, ssid). The lines inside each grey line are the clients related with that access point (bssid).
The relationship depends on the Config (type and subtype) that you have selected. For example, if you have in your Config (type and subtype) probe requests, then you will have (probably) a client in multiple BSSIDs as a single client will search for multiple Access Points.
I noticed that with hidden access points, the script can't parse/obtain the details of the ssid and the error is not handled. I need to take a look into that skip the ssid and extract the rest of the fields.

I'm unable to get output from the Output tab under WiFiRecon. On the 'config' section I'm choosing 'wlan2' under Monitor Interface and pressing start. Under 'status-ws', when I click on 'log' it's showing output on the right. Can you tell me if I'm doing something wrong?
I'm attempting to learn what all the functions on the 'config' page do and how they're related to modules. I'm assuming Monitor Interface is as the name implies, but I don't seem to be able to get predictable results.
