FruityWifi seems like the tool I need for my project. But I'm not sure where to start. You might be able to help me. I have a device, let's say a temperature meter to be concrete. This device needs to be connected to the internet and get a response from a live server in order to work.
To my project: I would like this device to work without an internet connection or with a sporadic one. I have captured the data transfer with another program on my windows machine, so I know how to mimic the response.
But how do I set it up on my raspberry pi with FruityWiFi?
My idea is ofc to have it configured as a access point with the internal wifi and an extra dongle in the USB port. But the setup of the program? I'm thinking of exploring TCPdump to capture/copy the data to a database. Then if no internet connection exists I would like to mimic the response the real online server creates, and would that be with the help of DNSSpoof? Is that the only two modules I need?
